Potential Impacts

• The study will make a strategic contribution to methodological development in several priority areas: data archiving, resourcing policy and practice, secondary analysis of qualitative data, QL methodology, qualitative research methods. In doing so, it will contribute to the overall capacity of UK social science and enhance its position as an emergent world leader in the archiving of qualitative data and QL methodology
• Long-term access to an ethically sound, contextualised archive of young people's experiences of growing up at the turn of the 21st century in the UK over six years, with potential for linkage to other youth studies in further collaborative archiving and data sharing initiatives, for linkage with local studies and policy in the study's five research locations, and for use by a range of academic, policy, teaching, training and lay users
